Using the Outlook sync addon is a great way to keep your CRM and Outlook calendars up to date. But like all synchronising systems, things can go wrong and cause various “issues”. The most common result of these little “issues” is that you end up with a number of duplicate items in your calendar.
Having a calendar full of duplicate items can be VERY annoying to say the least. In this post, you’ll discover how to quickly and easily remove duplicate calendar entries.
How to delete duplicate calendar items in outlook
For outlook 2002 and outlook 2007
- Go to -> View -> Current View and change the view to a table type view.
- Go to step one of “Sorting and deleting Outlook 2002, Outlook 2003, Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2010 entries”
For outlook 2003
- Go to -> View -> Arrange View -> Current View and change the view to a table type view
- Go to step one of “Sorting and deleting Outlook 2002, Outlook 2003, Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2010 entries”
For outlook 2010
- Select the folder for which you want to remove the duplicate items
- Click the -> View tab on the top menu
- Click the -> Change View icon and change the view to a table type view eg. list view
- Go to step one of “Sorting and deleting Outlook 2002, Outlook 2003, Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2010 entries”

- Right click in the header row of the table and then select -> Field Chooser
- From the drop down menu select -> Date/Time fields
- Drag the Modified field to the table heading
- Now you’ll want to check that the duplicate items have a different date to you original items. this is usually the case as the Modified date will be the date that the duplicate items were added to your calendar
- Sort the Modified column by clicking the Modified header column
- Scroll through the list until you find the first item in the series you want to delete
- Then scroll down to the last item with the same Modified date
- Hold the shift key and click the last item
- Press Delete to delete the selected items
