How to set up your System Preferences

Introduction

Use the ‘Configuration Editor’ Function to enable and disable various system-wide settings, such as icons to display, system time zone etc.

Here is a list of the settings you can modify through the configuration editor:

  • Mini calendar display
  • World clock display
  • Calculator display
  • Use RTE (Rich text editor)
  • Help desk support email
  • Help desk name
  • Max upload size
  • Max. entries per page in the list view
  • Max history viewed
  • default module
  • Max text length in listview
  • Default time zone

How to set up your system preferences

You’ll need to have administrator privileges to view/modify the configuration settings.

  1. Go to -> Settings -> Settings
  2. Scroll to the -> Other Settings block and click -> configuration editor
  3. Adjust your settings as required (see explanations below)
  4. Click save

Configuration Settings

Mini calendar display

When set to “True” this will display the mini calendar icon in the top right under the menu bar

World clock display

When set to “True” this will display the mini calendar icon in the top right under the menu bar

Calculator display

When set to “True” this will display the mini calendar icon in the top right under the menu bar

Use RTE (Rich text editor)

When this is set to true, the CRM will use the Rich Text Editor, throughout the CRM. This gives you more control over formatting such as allowing bolding of text, creation of lists etc.

Help desk support email

The default email address that will be used for the “From” field for helpdesk emails

Help desk name

This is the name that will be used for your help desk

Max upload size

Maximum size of upload allowed for the CRM. Values must be between 1-5 MB

Max. entries per page in the list view

This allows you to set how many items are shown throughout the CRM in list view. for example, when you are viewing contacts and this is set to 50 the user will see a list of 50 contacts before having to go to the next page.

Max history viewed

Default module

This sets the default module you want to see after login. For example, if this is set to contacts, then the contacts module will be seen after login.

Max text length in listview

This sets the maximum length of text displayed in the list view

Default time zone

This sets the default system-wide timezone used by the CRM. Please note that each user should also set their default timezone (which can be found under preferences) as this will override the main system timezone for each user. this will affect time records such as created and modified times, as well as the time used for time records.
